In Vērpete Krišjānis and Erik bring together their keen interest in ways of altering sensorial perception and their extensive research of the moving body and Baltic traditional music, dance, and handicraft.
Utilizing the melodic structures of Latvian folk songs and a circular movement pattern common to the dances of many cultures, the two dancers become the evolution of a constantly changing vortex of movement. Through the rotations, they weave the space, music, dance, and audience together. Turning hand in hand, it is the commitment to agree to disagree that keeps them moving together.
The movement of the performers moves the audience. The moving of the audience becomes the movement of the performance itself as the movement of the spectators change perspectives in space.
